I
am an attorney with more than 15 years experience working with
companies and individuals. My primary focus is advising clients
in the high-technology sector. I provide counsel to numerous companies,
spanning the life-cycle of a business from corporate formation
to termination strategies. (Clients)
I specialize in issues that concern electronic commerce, Internet
operations, and the licensing of intellectual property. In addition,
I advise companies on the day-to-day matters that all businesses
face: matters of equity distribution, employment matters, debt
and venture capital financings, non-disclosure agreements, and
trademark prosecutions, to name a few. (Practice
Areas and Transactions)
Before
entering private practice, I was General Counsel and Chief Administrative
Officer to Symmetrix, Inc., a technology and management consulting
firm of over 100 professionals. Prior to practicing as a lawyer,
I was a computer programmer and consultant and ran my own software
consulting business.

(Attorney Bio)
As
an attorney with substantial industry experience, I provide a
full range of services to address clients' business needs. Responsiveness
and reasonable fees are the cornerstones of my practice. It is
clear to me that any entrepreneur has a choice where to spend
his/her company's money. Legal fees should not consume the lion's
share of a company's cash. Unlike many attorneys who have not
worked in-house directly for a company, I understand the legal
needs of a client from an inside and an outside perspective. I
succeed if you succeed. You succeed by developing your products
and services, not by excessive spending on legal services.
As
a sole practitioner, occasionally my clients' needs may extend
beyond my areas of expertise. In such situations, I draw upon
a wide network of colleagues with specific areas of expertise.
Unlike a lawyer practicing in a firm, I am not restricted to making
a referral within my firm. I have the liberty of recommending
the most appropriate attorney, or providing a choice of attorneys,
unencumbered by partnership restrictions.
I
write on a wide variety of topics affecting today's business climate,
including software licensing, compensation arrangements, confidentiality
provisions, e-commerce transactions, corporate financing, privacy
rights and security issues in the digital age. My articles have
been published in the Boston Business Journal, Mass
HighTech, the Boston Law Tribune and Boston Digital
News. (Publications)

To
keep informed of current developments in the law, I am a member
of both the Computer and Internet Law Committee of the Boston
Bar Association and of the Boston College Intellectual Property
American Inn of Court. I am an active participant in the Harvard
Start-Up Club, where I have given several presentations on intellectual
property issues for start-up companies. Additionally, I have organized
and am a founding member of the Boston Emerging Technology and
Telecommunications Entrepreneur's Roundtable ("BETTER"),
a group of CEOs and directors that regularly meets to discuss
contemporary issues confronting today's entrepreneur. I also sit
on the Boards of Directors or Advisors of several companies.
